On Sunday morning, the Dormition Abbey (Christian holy site) was reportedly desecrated by unknown assailants in the holy city of Jerusalem, sparking outrage among the Palestinian locals.
According to several reports from the locals in Jerusalem, Hebrew graffiti was discovered all over the outer walls of this famous Benedictine monastery on Sunday morning.
The graffiti on walls called for Christians to “go to hell” and also contained several threats of violence and degrading messages that insulted Jesus Christ.
Nikodemus Schnabel, the Dormition Abbey spokesman, said the graffiti bore “very radical messages.”
The Dominition Abbey is believed to be the site where the Virgin Mary died; it is visited by thousands of Christian pilgrims each year.
