BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:35 P.M.) – Intense clashes broke out this evening between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern countryside of the Daraa Governorate.
According to a military report from Daraa, the Free Syrian Army’s sleeper cell attacked the Syrian Arab Army’s positions inside the town of Al-Sanamayn; this culminated in a series of intense clashes that are still ongoing at the moment.
The reports said the Free Syrian Army was using light and medium weapons that they did not handover to the Russian forces during their surrender this past Summer.
The Free Syrian Army has attempted to wreak havoc on the Syrian military in the Daraa and Al-Quneitra governorates by carrying out similar attacks on their checkpoints.
These attacks by the Free Syrian Army have prompted the Syrian military to reinforce Daraa and threaten to launch a new operation to clear the reconciled towns of the remaining rebels.
