BEIRUT, LIBANON (16:20) – US-Verteidigungsminister James Mattis erklärte am Freitag, er sei besorgt, dass die syrische Regierung von Bashar Al-Assad Sarin-Gas in Syrien eingesetzt habe.

Diese Stellungnahme von Mattis kommt nur wenige Stunden nachdem die Associated Press (AP) Informationen von einem Vertreter des Weißen Hauses veröffentlicht hat, dass die Trump-Regierung besorgt sei, die syrische Regierung plane einen Angriff mit chemischen Waffen.

Die syrische Regierung hat wiederholt den Einsatz chemischer Waffen in Syrien dementiert, trotz wiederholter Vorwürfe der USA und ihrer Verbündeten.
