BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:25 P.M.) – The Islamic Republic of Iran has put on display the wreckage of the U.S. spy drone that was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran, the U.S. military surveillance drone was flying with its tracking equipment switched off at the time, violating international aviation regulations.

“[The] U.S. drone took off from UAE in stealth mode and violated Iranian airspace,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javid Zarif wrote on Twitter on Thursday night, adding that the Global Hawk drone “was targeted near… Kouh-e Mobarak” region in the Central district of Jask in Hormuzgan province.

Good. That means they collected the wrack-parts on their own soil (or water?). It would be great if they could have shown us also the location where the drone parts were found.

The subject is simple. Many people know how they “work” this in the western world (… something like the wag the dog movie). We do not have to say much. Trump goes for elections. He has two choices. If he hits he will be “the dynamic president.” If he does not hit then “the other side” will say “they hit us and you did not answer … you are not strong president “.This happens in these cases.

If Trump attacks Iran, Iran will respond.

The cost of a war with Iran will be massive, whatever the result and will I am sure involve thousands of US body bags.

Trump cannot afford either of those scenarios and get reelected.

Sorry : Wrong analysis. No catch-22 here. BTW, Yanks don’t give a f*ck about what happens abroad. What matters in a POTUS election is 100% domestic! Moreover, this way of doing will please the Christian electorate : he was slapped on a cheek, he presents the other one… Moreover, he said he didn’t wanted to start a war… This is not USA starting the shooting party. +++ “thousands of US body bags” >>>> Would only happen if he invades. This is surely what Saudis or Emiratis dream he would do. If these want an invasion of Iran, they’ll have to… Read more »

@The Greek : this is not the name of this game. Donald Trump (pbuh) acted as a good Christian, showing mercy and his left cheek… Now that the vile ayatoilet heretic is shown such attitude, in Koranic mindset, he has shown weakness, with Khamenei calling for the destruction of USA and ousting them from the Mid-East for 30 years, with US Forces in a not too big number parading before his nose, Surat 9 says Khamenei has to attack since the enemy is weak. It’s clear that a guy like Soleimani understand what Trump is cooking, but for the fanatics,… Read more »

““[The] U.S. drone took off from UAE in stealth mode and violated Iranian airspace,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javid Zarif wrote”

And there is no “stealth mode” on US aircraft : they’re stealth or they aren’t, but stealth aircraft can be fit with Luneberg lenses allowing to be detected by ATC when doing casual flights.
Only French Rafale can switch stealth ON/OFF
