BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:10 A.M.) – Israel alleges that the Syrian military opened fire on one of their warplanes before they launched an attack on the latter’s positions in the Al-Quneitra Governorate last night.
According to the IDF’s statement, the IAF warplane was fired on by the Syrian air defenses while it was conducting a routine flight along the border.
The Israeli Defense Forces later attacked the Syrian air defense site that opened fire on their warplane.
The Israeli authorities later confirmed their attack on the Syrian air defense site in an official statement from the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Our policy is clear — we are not prepared to tolerate any aggression against us, and we will respond against it powerfully and decisively,” Netanyahu said.
As a result of this attack, at least two Syrian military soldiers were killed.
