BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 P.M.) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that their troops destroyed another Hezbollah tunnel along the Lebanese border.

According to the official spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, their troops destroyed the fifth alleged Hezbollah tunnel that was found along the Lebanese border with Israel.

Of the alleged five Hezbollah tunnels that have been unearthed along the Lebanese border, at least three of them were believed to have stretched as far as Upper Galilee.

The Israeli Defense Forces launched “Operation Northern Shield” earlier this month in an attempt to neutralize the Hezbollah threat near their northern borders.

The Lebanese government has heavily criticized Israel’s operation along the border, calling this move by the IDF as nothing more than an attempt to infringe on their sovereignty.
