BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army has recently resumed their field operations around the key town of Kabani in northeast Latakia.

Earlier this week, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Armored Division launched a heavy attack on the southern axis of Kabani.

At the start of the attack, the Syrian Arab Army was able to score a small advance at southern Kabani; this prompted the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) to send reinforcements to this front.

The jihadist reinforcements would help drive back the Syrian Arab Army and end their brief offensive on Kabani.

Since early May, the Syrian Arab Army has stormed Kabani over ten times and all of their attacks have ended with their withdrawal from this mountaintop town.

The Syrian Arab Army’s attacks on Kabani have also proven incredibly costly, as many soldiers from their reserve forces, in particular, the reconciled rebels, have been killed during these storming operations.
