BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 P.M.) – Photos (below) have been released showing the first convoy of the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division to be sent towards the northern countryside of Homs province for an upcoming offensive against armed rebel groups.

The convoy in question comprises units that had been preparing to strike Islamic State terrorists in southern Damascus as well as units based in the eastern Qalamoun region.

The photos show an exclusively motorized force of technicals and logistical trucks, indicating that the first batch of the elite division’s units bound for northern Homs belong to light fire support (i.e. machine gun platoons) and combat services outfits.

The Tiger Forces Division is likely to commence its main ground assault within the next fortnight after preparing all of its units, assessing weak points in rebel lines around the city of Rastan and formulating a plan of attack.
