Damascus, SANA- International Cooperation and planning commission signed on Thursday a project on “Family food security in Syria” with the World Food Program (WFP) through establishing a system to monitor a periodical food security.

“The project aims at boosting understanding on the impact of crisis on the status of food security for the affected families, outline and develop suitable recovery responses to support the families and find data to build genuine partnership with farmers,”  Rima Qadri, Chairwoman of the Commission told SANA.

She added the project serves the food security through analyzing the demands of local markets.

WFP Regional Director in Syria Matthew Hollingworth said cooperation between the Program and the Syrian government has been continuous for 50 years, adding that efforts will be concentrated during the next stage on the agriculture sector to re-run production and support local societies.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
