BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:45 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has begun their second round of airstrikes over the jihadist-held town of Kabani, today, hitting several targets belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies.
According to a source from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Russian Air Force targeted Kabani and the nearby town of Al-Sirmaniyeh, which are both located near the western axis of the Al-Ghaab Plain.
These airstrikes by the Russian Air Force come just hours after the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Division seized Point 1154 at the southwestern cliff of the Al-Zuwayqat Mountain.
The Syrian Arab Army is expected to storm Kabani in the next 24-48 hours as they attempt to dislodge Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) from this strategic town.
The capture of Kabani is an important military endeavor because the force that controls the town will also have fire control over the remaining areas along the Latakia-Idlib axis.
