BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 P.M.) – The Russian forces inside Syria are responsible for the unexplained GPS disruptions over Israeli airspace this past month, Israeli security officials told the Haaretz publication.

Citing the Israeli security establishment’s assessment, Haaretz said the disruptions were a result of electronic warfare waged by the Russian military in defense of their planes at the Hmeimim Airbase (var. Khemimim Airbase).

The Israel Airports Authority confirmed the reports, stating that the GPS disruptions have lasted for approximately three weeks and only occur during the daytime hours.

The IAA said ‘many’ pilots had reported that they lost satellite signal from the Global Positioning System (GPS) around Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.

However, the Russian ambassador to Israel stated on army radio that these reports are “fake news” and “can’t be taken seriously.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented on these claims.

Even if true, the Russians have been telling the Israelis for the longest time that they shouldn’t be interfering with Russian and Syrian manoeuvres against the various jihadis in Syria. There have been multiple cases of Israeli bombing of SAA bases and troops just as the latter are preparing for, or are in the middle of, attacking and removing jihadis.

In case you wouldn’t know, Ben Gurion is a CIVILIAN AIRPORT :

Israeli military aircraft aren’t touched! We’re no more in the 80’s!
INS (inertial navigation systems are VERY accurate nowadays : less than 15m) and fighter-jets have Sat-Nav too : they can rely on GPS, Galileo, Bei-Dou, GLONASS, Sat-Phones, etc!
And Russians know this perfectly!
Moreover, disturbing CIVILIAN navigation systems is not at all their style = fake news

But you should now that there is a war in Syria, not a play game. And Israel is involved in this war, shooting missiles and killing peoples for almost nothing.
So if Israel is not able to do any thing, it is the problem of Israel only. Israel should take one other approach, using force later is always possible.

But now, Israel is only an allied force of the jihadists.

+++ “But you should now that there is a war in Syria, not a play game. And Israel is involved in this war” >>> Nope! Was Israel involved, SAA would have been finished off for long! This is pure propaganda saying they’re involved. +++ “shooting missiles and killing peoples for almost nothing.” >>> Again, you’re wrong! They’re preventing the transfer of guided weapons to Hezbollah, according to UNSC Res.1701 an UNSC Res.1559. As long as Syrian militaries don’t interfere, or, considering the agreement with Russia that neither Hezbollah nor IRGC shall be deployed closer than 80km from the border, well,… Read more »

Not surprising at all. Putin is a jew himself and he loves ISISrael to death more than the Pure Evil Hitler 2.0 Zionist Trump. We knew Russian has been doing this since 2017 when Iran came out publicly to expose that. Russia has been blocking the Syrian AA systems from firing at ISISrael by changing the codes and Iran was the one that was able to unlocked these codes so Syria can fire back at ISISrael’s warplanes. After that did not help ISISrael much, Russia now came up with a new trick and that trick to jam the Syrian AA… Read more »

ISISrael should thanks Russia and Putin for doing this latest radar jamming to prevent ISISrael warplanes from flying into Syrian airspace to get shot down.

You need to take your hand off your “tool”

You need to use your brain and do some serious researches. Wouldn’t you had missed history lessons, you’d know that Alexander the Great used exactly the same strategy of creating monsters, have others getting exhausted at liquidating these then come to finish off the monster (and other forces) and pose as the saviour… Look at what happened since 2013! Isn’t it the same pattern? Yes it is! If you think this regime is not disgusting, whatabout the 33,000 political prisoners they “executed” in 1988? Half of them were… High school students under the age of 18! Many were IRGC members’… Read more »

+++ “this latest radar jamming”
>>> This is not a radar jamming.
It’s a jamming of Global Positioning System (GPS).
Learn to read.

+++ “from flying into Syrian airspace to get shot down.”
>>> It’s more dangerous to hunt hogs than for an IDF aircraft to force into Syrian airspace ?????????????

Hum, Iranian S-300 are in Iran… When did Israel performed an aerial raid on Iran?
BTW, Iran has zero SAM batteries in Syria

“told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida”
>>> Some more serious sources?

“If Russia did not do all those things to help ISISrael, you would have seen at least 10 Zionist warplanes being shot down in the past 3 years.”
>>> ??????????????
Guess what?
I know a method which is very cheap, that would prevent Israel from dropping any bomb and shooting any missile on Syria.
It takes just a few minutes to figure out how to do…

Actually, it’d more be the contrary : if Putin turns Israel against him, he can kiss his a*s goodbye.
Israel is the only country still doing ToT of hi-tech to Russia. He also used to get ToT from France before the invasion of Crimea in 2014, but it ceased since… The laser designation pod used by Flankers is nothing else than the French Damocles, in fact, since France stopped to build these, if you bought a Damocles from France for your Mirage-2000, now you call Russia for spare-parts.

Perhaps it is a coincidence, but this is precisely the time when Israel is considering attacking Iran, a friend of Russia.

It just disturbs civilian traffic… Militaries have stopped to rely on GPS [alone] for at least 15 years! Israel is not considering attacking Iran : it’s out of the effective range of IDF. They’d need bases in Saudi-Arabia and UAE, thus I think MBS and MBZ would like the idea. IDF should really consider buying our Rafale. With the new M88/K9+ engine, the payload is increased to 12t and the reinforcement of stealth on the upcoming F4 upgrade makes them totally invisible for radars. The increased payload would allow to strike anywhere in Iran and come back without mid-air refuelling… Read more »
