BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:55 P.M.) – A Russian soldier was killed this week when a group of Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorists ambushed the Syrian military in eastern Deir Ezzor.
According to a report from Deir Ezzor, the Syrian military was ambushed by the Islamic State group while they were moving through the Al-Mayadeen Desert on February 23rd.
As a result of this ambush by the Islamic State, a 35-year-old Russian soldier, Sakhroub Kremov, was killed alongside several other Syrian Arab Army (SAA) personnel in this pasrt of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
The name of the Russian soldier was released this week after the incident was thoroughly investigated by both the Russian Armed Forces and the Syrian Arab Army.
With the death of Sakhroub Kremov, the total number of Russian soldiers killed in Syria has risen to 108 as of March 16th.
