BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:35 A.M.) – The Russian and Syrian air forces carried out several airstrikes over the Idlib and Hama governorates this week, targeting a number of bases belonging to the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
According to a new report from the Arabic-language version of the Sputnik News Agency, the Syrian and Russian air forces targeted several areas belonging to these jihadist groups, including the towns of Khan Sheikhoun, Termala, Kafr ‘Ayn, and Jisr Al-Shughour.
In addition to the Idlib Governorate towns mentioned, the Russian and Syrian air forces also targeted Tal Hawash and Hawijah in northern Hama.
As a result of these heavy airstrikes, the Syrian and Russian air forces allegedly destroyed several ammunition warehouses and bases belonging to the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
The reports added that several Chechen fighters were killed during the Russian Air Force attack on the Jisr Al-Shughour area.
