BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:10 A.M.) – On Tuesday, the Saudi Coalition, alongside the pro-Hadi Yemeni Army, launched a new offensive to capture the area east of the Hiran region in northern Yemen.

Backed by heavy airstrikes, the Saudi Coalition troops attempted to crack the Houthi forces’ lines near the Hiran region of Hajjah; however, after six hours of fighting, they were ultimately forced to retreat back towards the Saudi border.

According to a report from the official media wing of the Houthi forces, their fighters managed to kill and wound tens of personnel from the Saudi Coalition and the Yemeni Army.

They added that most of the Saudi Coalition casualties were a result of the heavy artillery that their fighters were raining on the enemy forces.

Since the U.N.-led ceasefire was implemented in the Hodeidah Governorate in January, most of the fighting in Yemen has shifted to the northern and central regions of the country.
