The Syrian Marines, alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), continued their large-scale offensive in the Latakia Governorate on Thursday, targeting the remaining villages under the control of the jihadist rebels near the Turkish border-crossing.

Following the capture of Shahrourah in Jabal Turkmen, the Syrian Armed Forces carried out a powerful assault at the Hayat Tower to the west of the aforementioned village; this resulted in the government forces imposing full control over this site after a short battle with Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Turkmen, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

In addition to capturing the Hayat Tower, the Syrian Armed Forces also took control of Shayr Al-Nimr, Majbal Abu ‘Ali, and Naourah after the jihadist rebels abandoned their positions in order to flee to the Turkish border.

As a result of these gains on Thursday, the Syrian Armed Forces are now in positions to seal more of the Turkish border, leaving the jihadist rebels without access to some of their most important supply lines to the Latakia Governorate.

Do you know that a few years ago, Erdogan and Assad signed a free border crossing treaty? The kind of treaty you have within E.U.!
And now Gollum wants the same kind of treaty with the E.U…
He just did Syria the old trojan horse trick!
