BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army scored an important advance on Wednesday when their forces captured the imperative Huwayz area in the southwestern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
Backed by Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Army was able to break through the militant lines at Huwayz Tahtani earlier today, following a fierce battle at the Al-Hamra axis.
The Syrian Army would then quickly establish control of Huwayz Tahtani before moving onto capture Huwayz Fouqani and Huwayz Huraya, which are located at the southwestern slope of the Zawiya Mountain.
As illustrated in the map above, the Syrian Army is now in southwestern Idlib and they are only a few hundred meters away from the Turkish observation post.
It is still not clear whether or not the Turkish Army is still present at the observation post; however, they have yet to respond to any of the Syrian Arab Army’s recent gains in the area.
