BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their field operations against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in central Syria on Saturday.
Led by their 3rd and 11th divisions, the Syrian Arab Army attacked several areas with an Islamic State presence in the Badiya Al-Sham region near the ancient city of Palmyra (var. Tadmur).
According to a field report from this front, the Syrian Arab Army engaged in heavy clashes with the Islamic State on Saturday, resulting in a number of casualties for the terrorist group.
A significant portion of the Islamic State’s equipment southeast of Palmyra was reportedly destroyed during the operation.
The Syrian Arab Army reportedly destroyed several mortar launchers, missile-launchers, RPGs, and machine guns that belonged to the terrorist group in the area.
