BEIRUT, LIBANON (17:15 Uhr) – Die syrische Armee (SAA) macht ihre letzten Vorbereitungen für ihre bevorstehende Offensive, um den strategischen Militärflughafen Abu Duhur im östlichen Teil des Idlib-Gouvernements zurückzuerobern.

Angeführt von mehreren Brigaden der 4. Division und der Republikanischen Garde, hat die syrische Armee ihre Kräfte im Nordosten von Hama und im Süden von Aleppo für die vermutlich größte Offensive im Jahr 2018 stationiert.

Zusätzlich zur 4. Division und der Republikanische Garde sind folgende Einheiten vertreten:

  • Tiger Forces
  • Syrische Marines
  • Syrische Sozialistische Nationalistische Partei (SSNP)
  • Nationale Verteidungskräfte (NDF)
  • Baath-Bataillon
  • 11. Panzer-Division
  • Qalamoun Shield Forces
  • Syrische Hisbollah

Die Vorphase dieser Offensive hat bereits begonnen, als die syrische Armee versuchte, das nordöstliche Gebiet von Hama und den Süden der Provinz Aleppo zu befreien.
