BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) – US President Donald Trump pointed fingers to former President Barack Obama when asked by a journalist whether or not Crimea should be recognised as Russian territory, during a statement he made at the G7 Summit in La Malbaie on Saturday.
“Crimea was let go during the Obama administration, and you know Obama can say all he wants but he allowed Russia to take Crimea. I may have had a much different attitude. So you’d really have to ask that question to president Obama, you know, why did he do that? Why did he do that?” Trump said.
Trump also reiterated his wish for Russia to be included in the summit, saying: “I would rather see Russia in the G8 as opposed to the G7. I would say that the G8 is a more meaningful group than the G7.”
The G7 meeting was held on June 8-9 in La Malbaie in the Canadian province of Quebec.
