BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – U.S. President Donald Trump’s national security team asked the Pentagon for “options to strike Iran”, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed officials.

According to the Wall Street Journal report, the inquiry on striking Iran was led by National Security Adviser John Bolton, who has been an outspoken critic of Tehran for several years.

The unnamed official said the request by the Trump administration’s national security team came after Iran-backed Iraqi militias fired several mortar shells towards a diplomatic district that included the U.S. embassy.

The report said that it is not clear whether or not Donald Trump was aware of the request from his national security team.

So Bolton is borrowing the Israhell bullshit about pretending to respond to an attack by their prospective victims.

@Tony B., that has been US and UK standard military practice for more than a century before Israel was founded.

Such military practise was already in use in Alexander the Great’s time, or by Persia, e.g. for the expeditionary corps at Marathon’s battle…
Just read Koran and you’ll soon get that Muhammad did the same and also far worst…
As Nebuchadnezzar said, there is nothing new under the sun.

Actually, US should have started strikes on Khomeini’s cronies in 1979 when these invaded US embassy in Tehran, not speaking of the bombing of many US embassies or military facilities (Beirut, Daran) by their Hellbollah proxy. If Yanks or Israel start doin air-strikes into Iran, it will be a long overdue. The lousy mullahs are looking for troubles with ’em for 4 decades. Patience has limits… I don’t get why no measures were taken : these bigots were hopeless from the start. Maybe by fear of oil prices sky-rocketing would they do so? Or because they considered (during the 80’s)… Read more »

Trump blows the Gulf-dikc. Iran can spent about 6 billion on military. KSA about 56. Israel about 20.

Whom can the Iranians threaten?

You forget that IRGC has about twice the budget Iranian regular militaries have and they’re into doing covert ops… $10bln a year spent at destabilising other countries is not a pussÿ budget. They already had Gadaffi’s skin (it was IRGC that shot on protesters then Gadaffi was accused of it), their proxies have plunged Yemen into a civil war, Lebanon is already a puppet state, under al-Maliki, many considered that the real ruler of Iraq was Qassem Soleimani who actually, is linked to the founding of ISIS since Zarqawi was smuggled into Iraq by his Quds-Force and he had serious… Read more »

@Daeshbags-Sux. the additional moneys for IRGC and covered ops are impossible to prove. You only assume it because the US does.

p.s. my sources have slightly different figures but never mind.
