Aleppo, Syria (7:05 A.M.) – The Turkish Army has begun amassing its forces near the Tal Abyad border-crossing in the Al-Raqqa Governorate, as they prepare to build a large barrier around this SDF-controlled town.

According to YPG activists in northern Syria, the Turkish Army posted-up at the Syrian border, bringing several armed vehicles and military personnel to block the area.

Similar to the Kurdish border-town of Kobane, the Turkish Army is going to build a large barrier around it in order to prevent groups like the outlawed “Kurdistan Workers Party” (PKK) from freely coming and going.

On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a crowd of provincial governors in Ankara that his government is currently conducting the largest Turkish military operation against the PKK that the country has ever seen.
