Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro rejected attempts by the opposition to bring US-backed aid into the country. He made the remarks during a press conference in Caracas on Friday.
“The package is very nice on the outside: humanitarian aid. But on the inside it brings the poison of humiliation,” he said.
“And it tries to cover up what is the biggest crime that is committed, the crime of stealing resources through the blockade and the sanctions of the United States government on Venezuela,” he stated.
Maduro said that if the Trump administration wants to help the Venezuelan people, it should remove the blockade and the sanctions against Caracas.
